At the end of your paper, click the button "Add/edit Bibliography." Your bibliography will appear, and new citations will be added automatically. Your citations may have become inactive for a few reasons: You used the Unlink Citations button. In Word and LibreOffice, you can also try toggling field codes. You can also click the little to change to "Classic View," which will open up your Zotero Library so you can browse and choose manually. You can check whether fields in a document are active by clicking them and looking for a gray highlight (Word/LibreOffice) or Edit with Zotero popup (Google Docs). If you get an error, report it in the Zotero Forums with a Report ID. In Zotero, go to the Cite Word Processors pane of the Zotero preferences, click on the Reinstall Microsoft Word Add-in button, and then restart Word. Zotero will add the citation at your cursor. If the Zotero option doesn't show up in that menu, try reinstalling the Word plugin from Zotero. A red search bar will appear and you can search for the reference you want to cite and hit enter. To add a citation, click the first button ("Insert Citation") on the toolbar. 
Before you add any citations, it's best to set your bibliographic style preferences with the option "Document Preferences.".You'll find a Zotero tab along the top of your document, between "Add-ons" and "Help." This tab has all of the same options that the Zotero tab has in Microsoft Word: Add/edit citation, Add/edit bibliography, Document Preferences, Refresh, and Unlink citations. Note: The first time you use Zotero with Google Docs you will have to link it to your Google Drive account.

When you download the Zotero Connector for Chrome or Firefox, you'll be able to use Zotero with Google Docs. Using Zotero on Google Docs is very similar to using it on Microsoft Word.
